Tim Waples, Chief Executive

As Chief Executive of the Association, Tim acts as ambassador for the industry, ensuring that Members have their voices heard and their interests represented.

Tim's experience in developing one of the strongest and most effective dealer networks while at Doosan Industrial Vehicles positions him extremely well for engaging with our membership. His time as President of the British Industrial Truck Association (BITA) gives him an unrivalled perspective of the wider industry.

Tim was influential in the creation of F-TEC, the forklift industry’s dedicated engineering training centre, created in conjunction with the FLTA itself.

As Chief Executive of the FLTA, one of his most pressing challenges will be working with F-TEC and BITA to drive the recruitment of apprentices and encourage ever-greater upskilling.


Nanette Woodman, Office Administrator

Your first point of contact at the FLTA, Nanette joined the Association in 2016.

Her deep understanding of business operations, and extensive prior experience in sales, administration and accounts, makes her more than qualified to assist Members and the public with any queries they might have.

With a strong work ethic and a commitment to achieving results - for both the organisation and its members - Nanette is a significant addition to the FLTA staff.




Lee Medway, Quality Manager

A Chartered Member of the Chartered Quality Institute and ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor, Lee joins the Association following a distinguished career of aircraft engineering management in the Royal Air Force. There, he acquired a wealth of experience in continuous improvement, quality, health and safety activities - knowledge invaluable to his role with the FLTA.

Lee is responsible for auditing members of the Association and measuring their compliance to the membership criteria, Code of Practice, statutory and regulatory requirements. He also strives to offer examples of best practice and highlight opportunities for improvement.

Crucially, Lee provides a key communication channel, consulting with members to understand their views, and making certain the Association's policies and initiatives continue to maximise the benefits of membership.
