Apprenticeships: How do I get involved?

As an employer you may already have an apprentice in mind. Alternatively you may want F-TEC to help you find and assess an apprentice. If you haven't taken on an apprentice in the past 12 months and have fewer than 50 employees, then you may also be entitled to a government grant of £1,500. Full details can be found here. A wealth of experience

Created to deliver the highest quality training in a way that is convenient to both the apprentice and his/her employer, this flexible programme is the result of close collaboration between the Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) and the British Industrial Truck Association (BITA) – the industry's foremost authorities on fork lift trucks – along with training specialists F-TEC. This partnership provides the key (common) skills needed by every apprentice.

Fork Lift Truck Association

FLTA LogoThe Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) is the UK’s independent authority on fork lift trucks. Its core members are fork lift truck dealers, manufacturers and maintenance companies, all of which work to an agreed Code of Practice. The competence of engineers is a key element of this code and we encourage and promote apprenticeships as the foundation for the skills and capabilities required.

BITA, the British Industrial Truck Association, is the UK’s trade association for fork lift truck manufacturers and suppliers, suppliers of associated components and services and the materials handling media. Along with the FLTA, BITA is committed to providing fork lift truck engineering options to suit the full range of companies and students, accommodating every type of business that needs to maintain fork lift trucks.
